Adventure Hike, Monday April 27
Our next adventure hike will be to Gorge de l’Areuse, one of the most beautiful gorge hikes in Switzerland. Note: This hike takes nearly the entire day due to longer train rides. In the event of inclement weather the hike will be postponed .
The hike is about 11-12 km, takes about 3 hours, maybe a little more, and requires good walking shoes or boots and hiking sticks. Total elevation gain is about 100 meters, and a descent of about 400 meters, with some steps or stairways to help on the steeper parts. The last climb is up to the Boudry train station.

The outbound train goes from Geneva to Noiraigue. We will depart from Geneve Cornavin at 8:05 am, on the IR 90 train toward Brig. We get off the train at Renens at 8:37, switch to the IC5, leaving Renens at 8:41, and then switch again in Neuchatel, to take the 9:41 train to Noiraigue, arriving at 10:03 am. If you buy in advance, you may be able to get a discounted price.
The return journey takes 1.5 hours and goes from Boudry gare to Geneve Cornavin. Trains from Boudry leave at 33 after the hour (e.g. 13:33, 14:33, 15:33) toward Yverdon les Bain, where we switch to a train to Renens, and then another transfer back to Geneva.
Bring plenty of water, a snack and a sandwich, as we will stop along the river to eat lunch. Please register in advance and let me know if you have any questions.
