Activity Leader - Raji
La Maison de Tara is a hospice home where people in palliative care can stay as an alternative to hospitalization. Residents spend their final days in a non-medical atmosphere surrounded by warmth, care and tenderness.
Volunteers from the AIWC as well as community volunteers help to maintain a beautiful vegetable, flower and rose garden. As this is a fairly new garden space, the garden design is an ongoing project.
Wednesdays, 8:30-14:30 pm. Please feel free to come for an hour, two hours or all day - whatever time you can stay! It is also possible to work at the garden on other days!
Bring a drink and a lunch or snack as we will enjoy "teatime" where we can learn gardening tips and skills with our wonderful Horticulturalist, Adina Oosterwijk.
You are welcome to join us in the garden and also join the WhatsApp group for the weekly project updates. When you come to the garden, please check in with Anne Terada, and be sure to prepare for the weather! We have a supply of gardening gloves and tools.

Strength Training with Neeti! This one hour training class, is an effective full-body workout with body awareness, improving muscle strength, coordination & flexibility. The focus is on coordinating breathing together with controlled movements. This class is recommended for all levels.

Colis du Coeur provides food and hygienic products for free to people in precarious situation. The distribution is customized to allow families from 3000 homes to choose what they need.

Pilates with Chiyo! For women, the pelvis and its surrounding inner muscles are extremely important, and require the proper care. In this class, we mainly focus on the exercise that target inner muscles, occasionally engaging the outer muscles to support them, thereby achieving whole body balance. As a result, you can experience “Relief for chills”, and increase “Boosting basal metabolism", "Body making”, and “Beautiful posture”.

This month's theme: Wines of the Valais
Discover the unique wines of Switzerland’s Valais region where dramatic Alpine slopes, abundant sunshine, ancient terraces, and diverse soils create one of Europe’s most distinctive wine regions. We’ll explore the Valais’s long winemaking history and its extraordinary collection of indigenous and traditional grape varieties—from Petite Arvine and Amigne to Cornalin and Humagne Rouge. Through a selection of wines, we’ll discover how altitude, climate, and centuries of tradition shape the unique character of Valais wine.
AIWC club member Beth Ann Dahan, long-time wine educator and vineyard owner will lead us through a tasting of a variety of wines. All wine lovers welcome – no experience or prerequisite required!
The cost of this course will be CHF 15-20 to cover the cost of the wines. Please bring this to the class and pay directly to Beth Ann.
The Wine Tasting Seminars will take place at different times over the course of the year. Each class is a stand-alone class.

Thursday Yin Yoga with Ping

Ready to start winter lake dipping (swimming). Temperatures are cold so the experience is invigorating and we've got a great group to share a tea with afterwards.
Join Christine BB and Cathy S alternating between Bains des Paquis and the Pontons du Quai de Cologny.
The CRR is Geneva's wildlife sanctuary where birds of prey, bats, hedgehogs, foxes, martens and other wildlife are brought to be healed, gain strength, and prepared to be released into the wild.
We'd like to invite you to visit and tour the CRR's facilities so you know where the donations from our upcoming October 30 Masquerade Fundraiser Party will be going. The tour starts off by explaining how the care center works and describing the journey of an animal from its arrival at the CRR until it can be released. Then, we will have a presentation of the various birds of prey at the center.
Plan your public transport to arrive at Bardonnex Village on bus 46 at 9:03. Our tour will begin at 9:15 and last 1h30. Some parking is also available at the center.
If people are up for a walk afterwards, Christine has mapped out a 6km walk(1h20). There are a couple of small bus stops along the way.

We are looking for all types of handmade and homemade items for the AIWC Art and Craft and Pre-Loved Christmas Market coming this November 6 and 7
Some examples include: needlework, sewing, paper crafts, pottery, jewelry, artwork, photography or any other handy craft.
Culinary ladies are included too! We would love to include any homemade non-perishable items like jams, jellies, flavored oils and chutneys.
Commercially produced items will not be accepted.
When you register, you will be asked to give a brief description of what you are selling. You must include this information as we will limit the number of repeat items.
There is a non-refundable Member CHF 25 and 40 CHF for non-members, table reservation fee to be paid with your registration.
We are also asking each vendor to provide an item for a raffle that we will have in the Clubrooms at the end of the Market. Items must be provided by October 23.

Join us for an interactive session on mediation strategies for conflicts with family, neighbors, or in the workplace.
Conflict in the workplace is a significant issue. In Switzerland, 57% of mental health-related work incapacity cases are triggered by workplace conflicts. Mediation can be a powerful tool to prevent escalation and foster a culture of trust and openness.
