YOGA with Michelle on ZOOM

This activity is open to all Club members at all levels from beginners to advanced although participation will be at your own risk.
My intention is to make Yoga accessible to everyone and help you to feel stronger and grounded in a safe and relaxed atmosphere.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows your body to move freely, use a mat/non slip surface and have a blanket, blocks and strap nearby if you have them.
Turning up is the hardest part, then you can be kind to yourself, your mind and your body.

Eric is hails from the U.S. and aside from his job at the United Nations, he is a writer - writing novels, short stories, as well as non-fictions books and articles on Human Rights. Eric is well known for his books: “Anxiety of Ghosts”, “Muladona”, “Saint Perpetuus Club of Buenos Aires”, “I Remember Julia: Voices of the disappeared”, and “GAS: A Short Story Collection”.

Wednesday Wanderers
The first and third Wednesday mornings each month we follow hiking paths for generally 2 hours at a pace that allows for taking photographs and pausing at a particular area of beauty. We go into the countryside of the cantons of Geneva and Vaud. Public transport is usually necessary to join the hike. If you would like to explore local hikes at a gentler pace, this is the group for you! Registration is required, please only register if you are sure to come.

Wednesday 3 March LAUSANNE TO ST SULPICE
This hike begins in Lausanne and finishes in St Sulpice. Allowing for time to enjoy the views along the lake and to take photos. It should take 2 hours to complete.
It is supposed to be a sunny day and the route is along paved paths.
As a reminder we need to wear masks or remain socially distanced.

Wednesday Wanderers is open to all AIWC members.
Female adult guests are allowed (once per guest) and must be announced in advance when registering for the hike.
Children are not allowed on hikes.
Dogs and other pets are not allowed on Hikes.
Hikes are generally 2 hours, though this may vary. The distance covered will vary as these hikes are at a pace that allows for taking some photographs and lingering at a particular area of beauty. If you are interested in a brisker pace, please join the Friday Morning Hike group.
Hikes are generally in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud and are easily accessible by public transit. On occasion, there are hikes outside of these cantons that may be longer in length and require longer transportation links.
Anyone wishing to join Wednesday Wanderers must register on the Website or call the Welcome Desk to be registered for each outing.
In the interest of safety, it may be necessary to limit the size of the group - this is at the discretion of the Activity Leader
Hikers are responsible for wearing appropriate clothing and shoes and for bringing all necessary equipment and supplies, particularly water and snacks.
Participants are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing and must follow the instructions provided by the Activity Leader.
The AIWC declines responsibility for the loss of personal property.
Aerobics Class on ZOOM !

This activity is open to all Club members although participation will be at your own risk. Exercise is critically important to our mental and physical health, now more than ever, and every workout is set to music to keep you upbeat and moving throughout the session.
Wear something comfortable, appropriate footwear, prepare your mat if you have one and make sure to have a bottle of water nearby.
Plan to be in front of your ZOOM with the volume turned up and ready to start on time!

Following on from the four week course, introducing breathing exercises, short yoga practices and meditation, today we will join forces for a celebratory one-hour live practice on Zoom !
The 4 videos are viewable on YouTube indefinitely, so that you can access them any time you would like and as often as you would like. Feel free to practice the breathing, asanas (yoga postures) and meditation in sequence, or opt for just the parts that interest you (but keep an open mind - you might surprise yourself!).
,The recorded sessions are beginner friendly but suitable for all levels. They are also independent of one another so that you can choose to virtually attend one or all.

Special Partage Project
Partage continues to help individual families who, due to the coronavirus, are in need of special assistance. Partage has set up a spacious distribution center at Palexpo, (Hall 7) to pack weekly sacks of food for two people which are then distributed by the communes and Colis du Coeur to registered recipients.
It is necessary to sign up so Partage can prepare for the appropriate number of people. Friends and Family are Welcome. Masks, hand sanitizer, coffee, water and snacks are provided . Directions to Hall 7 will be provided in your confirmation and reminder emails. If you have questions, feel free to contact Christine at aiwcvolservices@gmail.com

We are photography enthusiasts exploring the fascinating world of digital photography. Our objectives are to help you develop your own style, improve the use of your camera, and have fun. Activities include monthly meetings, monthly themes, photo exercises, excursions, our Flickr group and creating the AIWC photo wall. Beginners and experienced photographers welcome. Type of camera is not important.
The photography group meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday. Places are limited during March- details of where we'll meet coming soon.... Registeration will be open soon!

St. Paddy's Day Irish Beer Tasting via Zoom

Grab your household, or fly solo and join our St. Paddy's Day Irish Beer Tasting via Zoom!
We are lucky to welcome Jonathon Klassen, a passionate brewer and co-founder of Gland’s Craft Brewery Dive Bär (divebar.ch).
Jonathon will lead us through the tasting of 5 Irish beers (3 craft) and discuss each beer style, tasting notes, suggested food pairings and other fun insider information.
A festive brewery experience will be brought to your own home with our specially curated tasting kits inclusive of the 5 selected brews, tasting notes, Irish embellishments and sweet treats.
Kits will be available for pick-up at the Club on March 15 and 16. Event cost is 25 CHF per household and space is limited to 20 households.
Deadline to register is March 14.
Once registered, you will immediately receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link. A reminder email with more information on when to pick up your beer tasting kit will also be sent closer to the event date.
Note: We ask that you pay by credit card when registering since paying with cash is not an option.
